Shibari & Strings: Resonance in Restraint

Shibari & Strings presents a unique fusion of art forms, combining the intimacy and tension of rope bondage with the elegance and emotion of classical strings for a seductive experience like none other. Witness the deliberate movements of rope artist Mar Like The Sea, each tie echoing the crescendos of the flute and vocals, creating a dialogue between body and sound. The live music - performed by NTHNL and Sammie - will act both a backdrop and a collaborator, amplifying the emotional intensity of the performance. Jacob “NTHNL” Rudin is a Queens-based composer, flutist, producer, and sound-meditation facilitator specializing in electronic, ambient, and electro-jazz music and seeking to discover new musical pathways to joy, peace, and ecstatic creativity. Sammie is a Brooklyn-based pole artist and aerialist + studio owner (The Atrium) who is also a musician. She is a singer, pianist, and songwriter, and her understanding of music is embodied and intuitive. Shibari & Strings is both visually and aurally immersive, offering the audience a space to reflect on the beauty of vulnerability, connection, and control.
